How to Completely Delete Temp Files


After performing Disk Cleanup, there are times that files under Temp folder still exist. In order to permanently delete those files, you can follow the simple steps below.


For Windows XP:

Step 1:

1. Click Start button > Run.
2. Type temp > press Enter key.
3. Delete the contents of the folder. (Note: You might get a notification that there are files that
    cannot be deleted, skip those file and proceed with the other files instead. You would need to       
    boot in Safemode in order to get rid of the files.

Step 2:

1. Click Start button > Run.
2. Type %temp% > press Enter key.
3. Delete the contents of the folder. (Note: You might get a notification that there are files that    
    cannot be deleted, skip those file and proceed with the other files instead. You would need to     
    boot in Safemode in order to get rid of the files.


For Windows 7:

Step 1:

1. Click Start button > All Programs > Accessories > Run.
2. Type temp > press Enter key.
3. Delete the contents of the folder. (Note: You might get a notification that there are files that
    cannot be deleted, skip those file and proceed with the other files instead. You would need to       
    boot in Safemode in order to get rid of the files.
